Favorite Books

Welcome to my virtual bookcase. I enjoy reading classics and contemporary novels, from the gothic horror of Mary Shelley's, Frankenstein, and Bram Stoker's, Dracula, to the modern master of terror Stephen King. I also enjoyed Anne Rice's novels about vampires, and the Mayfair Family of witches, and Mario Puzo's story of the Corleone Family of gangsters in The Godfather. I think Larry McMurtry's novel Lonesome Dove is the best western novel ever written, but others like Josey Wales, and The Shootist are great too. If you love the southwest, you've got to read Desert Solitaire by counter culture environmentalist Edward Abbey, and then read The Monkey Wrench Gang. For great short stories of classic horror, read Best Ghost Stories of Algernon Blackwood, and Don't Look Now: Selected Stories of Daphne du Maurier. She wrote The Birds, the basis for the Alfred Hitchcok film. The following are my most memorable books.
