New Army Pass - Inyo National Forest, California

I hiked up to 12,300 feet at New Army Pass in the Sierra Nevada Range. I began this hike from the Cottonwood Lakes Trailhead at 4:09 AM. Sunrise was at 6:23 AM when I approached Cottonwood Lakes Number One. It took me 4 hours and 34 minutes to reach Long Lake. The first segment of this hike was 6.2 miles.

After setting up camp and having breakfast, I started hiking again at 11:07 AM. It was 0.7 miles to High Lake, and it took me 40 minutes. From there it was 1.4 miles to New Army Pass. I reached New Army Pass at 1:50 PM. It had taken me 2 hours to get up there to 12,308 feet. After taking a break and lots of photos I headed back down to camp. I arrived at my camp at 3:31 PM. My hike was 4.1 miles round-trip, and it took me 4 hours and 24 minutes. The two hikes combined were 10.3 miles in one day.
