Piestewa Peak - Phoenix Mountain Preserve

At 2,610 feet, Piestewa Peak is the third highest mountain in the city of Phoenix, Arizona. This urban hike was 2.1 miles round-trip, and it took me 1 hour and 33 minutes. The elevation gain is 1,151 feet.

I hiked up Piestewa Peak in the early afternoon before the high winds came. The hike is 2.1 miles round trip to the 2,610 foot summit with 1,151 feet of elevation gain. It's a very steep trail but not difficult. It took me 2 hours. The mountain is primarily composed of schist, quartzite, and quartz.

This is an urban hike located in the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. Although, many people were on the trail it is still enjoyable, and a good workout.
