Fay Canyon - Sedona, AZ

I did an early morning hike in Sedona, up the north fork of Fay Canyon. I explored beyond the ruins and main trail. It was 3.7 miles round trip and took me 2 hours and 41 minutes. It took me 19 minutes to reach the junction of the north and west forks. From there I scrambled up to the first cliff dwelling in the north fork which took another 13 minutes. Then I followed a social trail beyond the cliff dwelling. However the cliff quickly became choked with brush, so I descended down a drainage to the wash. I followed the wash to the second cliff dwelling.

Bypass Canyon - Sedona, AZ

I did my second hike into Bypass Canyon. This time I did a different connection loop, and went counter clockwise. It was a 4.8 mile loop, and took me 4 hours and 8 minutes with some exploring. I started at 7:34am and finished around 11:45am. Going from Boynton Canyon to the top of the ridge to Bypass Canyon took me 57 minutes, and it 1.8 miles. This is a fun and challenging canyon to explore. It certainly relieves my stress and OCD.

Took me 57 minutes to get here, and it's 1.8 miles.

Steamboat Rock - Sedona, AZ

On Sunday, I began my hike up Steamboat Rock at 7am to beat the heat. My 3.5 mile hike lasted 4 hours. I spent a lot of time exploring and taking photos. I started at the Wilson Mountain Trailhead by the Midgley Bridge. First, it was a half mile hike up the Wilson Canyon Trail to the Jim Thompson Trail. That took 16 minutes. Then to the base of the spire on Steamboat Rock was another mile, which took 1.5 hours. The total distance to the spire was 1.4 miles from the trailhead. Then I continued on to Tisha Spire which was 1.7 miles from the trail head.
