Keyhole Cave & Sugarloaf Summit - Sedona, AZ

The hike to Keyhole Cave is only 1 mile one-way, and took me 45 minutes. I also included a hike up Sugarloaf Summit. The entire hike was 3 miles and took me 2 hours and 8 minutes.

Fay Canyon - Sedona, AZ

I hiked this obscure 4 mile round trip trail up high on the western wall of Fay Canyon. I started at 11:46am. To get there I followed Bear Mountain Trail for 0.6 miles to a faint social heading north to Fay Canyon. The hike took me 2 hours and 50 minutes.

North Cat Peak Loop Trail - Usery Mountain Regional Park

I hiked this easy 4 mile trail in the morning hoping to see rattlesnakes. I didn't see any but it was a nice trail. I started at the Medicine Wheel Trailhead at 8:38am. 

Peoria Regional Preserve - Peoria, AZ

Previously I have seen two rattlesnakes here. But now there are new trails in the preserve. So I hiked the new Speckled Rattler Trail to West Wing Mountain. It was 2.8 miles round trip.

AZ BioBlitz - White Tank Mountain Regional Park

This reptile survey was a BioBlitz led by Bryan Hughes and Jeff Martineau of Rattlesnake Solutions.  It was for Arizona Game and Fish. The off trail hike was in the remote western section of the White Tank Mountains. Our hike was 5 miles and took 4 hours and 30 minutes.

Huckaby Windows - Sedona, AZ

This is one of my favorite hikes in Sedona. It's on a faint trail and I rarely see more than 1 person. Most people don't know about this unmarked trail. The unmaintained trail is 1.1 miles from the trailhead and takes me about 22 minutes to reach it. Then it takes about another 40 minutes to get near the top. The loop I did in this current hike was 4.3 miles.

Western Diamondback Rattlesnake - Peoria, AZ

This is the second time I have encountered a western diamondback rattlesnake at Peoria Regional Preserve.
