Keet Seel Ruins - Navajo National Monument

Keet Seel is open Memorial Day to Labor Day, and a permit is required to visit the ruins. It is a 15 mile round trip hike. There is an overnight campground near the ruins.

 

Homolovi State Park - Winslow, Arizona

Homolovi State Park is located about one mile north of Winslow. The park has preseved over 300 Ancestral Puebloan archaeological sites. Two of the sites are open to visitors. The park sits at an elevation of 4,900 feet, and is the closest campground to Petrified Forest National Park.

Grand Canyon National Park - Shoshone Point

This is one of my favorite overlooks of the Grand Canyon. Not many people know about it, and access is easy.

The Grandview Trail is one of my favorite trails on the South Rim. It is never crowded.
