Crucifix Canyon - Superstition Mountains

I hiked Crucifix Canyon off of Forest Road 80. My hike was 6 miles round-trip, and it took me 5 hours and 12 minutes. This is a beautiful and remote canyon near Black Cross Butte. The canyon drains into the Salt River.

AZ88 (Apache Trail) and Canyon Lake

I explored an overgrown trail up to the ridge near Canyon Lake. My short hike was almost a mile round trip and it took 1 hour and 9 minutes.

Salt River Canyon from Peak 3042 - Superstition Mountains

The hike to the summit of Peak 3042 (3,042 feet elevation) was challenging, but the view from the summit is incredibly rewarding. The trail is faint and easy to lose. I lost it several times. This hike is remote and I did not see another person. I started the hike at 7:39 AM, and it was 6.6 miles round-trip, and it took me 5.5 hours.

Battleship Mountain - Superstition Mountains

The first time I summited Battleship Mountain was on November 4, 2020, from First Water Trailhead. This time I took the longer and harder Boulder Canyon Tail from the marina at Canyon Lake. I had packed four liters of water, but by the time I was about a quarter of a mile from the summit, half my water was gone, and there was a difficult climb, and a much steeper ascent ahead. So I turned back. When I returned to mini van I had barely any water left. My hike was 12.1 miles round-trip, and it took me 9 hours and 13 minutes.
