Caving - Prescott National Forest

I explored this short, but beautiful cave with cavers from Arizona. The cave is located east of Chino Valley in the Antelope Hills. The off-trail hike to the cave was 3.8 miles round-trip. The cave formed in the redwall limestone near the bottom of a canyon. This area is called The Chino/Coconino Grasslands and Shrub-Steppe ecoregion. Various mixtures of semi-desert grasslands, semi-desert shrub-steppe, and sagebrush shrublands occur here.
