Turk's Head - Superstition Mountains

Turk's Head is a ramp shaped peak with a 2,822 foot summit, south of the Superstition Mountains. I led my sister Debbie, and her husband Denny, on a hike up Turk's Head. We started at 8:28 AM. Our hike was 5.5 miles round-trip, and it took us 3 hours and 41 minutes.

Superstition Peak 5057

I began my hike up Superstition Peak at 10:02 AM. After 37 minutes on the Hieroglyphic Trail I reached the junction of the South Ascent Trail. At 11:23 AM, I was standing below The Balanced Rock. That was 1.9 miles from the trailhead. From here it was 1.4 miles to the 5,057-foot summit. At 1:35 PM I sat down on the summit. The elevation gain from the Hieroglyphic Trail to the top was about 2,370 feet. It took me 3 hours and 30 minutes from the parking lot. At 1:57 PM, I headed back down. I was back at The Balanced Rock at 3:38 PM. Then I reached the Hieroglyphic Trail at 4:10 PM, and I arrived at my car a 4:48 PM. My hike was 6.4 miles. round-trip, and it took me 6 hours and 44 minutes.

 

Temptation Peak - Goldfield Mountains

I started my hike at 2:46 PM. It took me 1 hour and 35 minutes to reach the 3,195-foot summit. I headed back down at 5:02 PM, and was back at my car at 6:32 PM. My hike was 3.9 miles round-trip, and it took me 3 hours and 44 minutes.
