Bypass Canyon Loop - Sedona, AZ

I started this hike at 7:36am to avoid the afternoon heat. The Bypass Canyon Loop is a social trail that connects to Boynton Canyon Trail. The loop was 5.7 miles and took me 5 hours and 15 minutes. It took me 35 minutes to reach the first ruins overlooking Fay Canyon and Bypass Canyon. To reach the saddle it took me 2 hours and 50 minutes, and was 2.4 miles from the road. From there I headed down to the Women's Village and Boynton Canyon Trail. At the Women's Village I saw about a half dozen ruins. Further down I wandered off the narrow social trail, and got all scratched up and stabbed by prickly pear cactus.
