Monument Canyon - Superstition Mountains

I returned to Monument Canyon with a goal of hiking up the eastern ridgeline of the canyon. I hiked Jacob's Crosscut Trail for 1.8 miles, and that took 43 minutes. At that point I discovered a very overgrown social trail heading up to the ridgeline. It took me 2 hours and 42 minutes to reach the highest spot on the ridge, which was 2.5 miles from my car. There was a waist high rock cairn marking the high point. After that I continued on for a half mile. It was 12:50 pm when I decided to hike back down. I made it to the fireplace ruin by 2:36 pm. Then it was a 44 minute hike back to my car. It was a beautiful and difficult hike. My hike was 5.9 miles round-trip, and it took me 6 hours and 7 minutes.
