Cat Mountain - Tucson Mountain Park

I hiked up Cat Mountain by heading up the difficult northwest ridge, and then descended the easier eastern ridge. The northwest ridge has occasional rock cairns, and sometimes you can see a trail. My hike was 4.2 miles and took me 4 hours. First it was a 1 mile hike on the Sarasota Trail to the base of Cat Mountain. Then it was 0.73 miles to the summit, and that took me 1 hour and 30 minutes. Going down the eastern ridge was easier. That obvious trail took me 36 minutes to get down the mountain and connect with the Explorer Trail. That trail from the summit is 0.61 miles. From there it is 1.9 miles back to the trailhead.
