This was my third time up to the 4,378-foot summit of Picketpost Mountain. It was 4.9 miles round-trip, and it took me 5 hours and 14 minutes. Picketpost Mountain is composed of entirely volcanic rocks, which include rhyolitic lava, water-laid and air-fall tuff, and both vent rocks and lava flows of quartz latite composition.
