Gold Ridge Trail - Rye, Arizona

This trail is located in the Mazatzal Mountains right off the Beeline Highway. I started my hike at 9:55 AM. In a half hour I approached the fence and gate. I passed through the gate and soon the trail became very steep with very few switchbacks. At 1 PM, and after 3 hours and 5 minutes of hiking, I turned around at 5,601-feet elevation. At this point I was 4.9 miles from the trailhead. Going back, it took me only 2 hours and 12 minutes to return to the trailhead. My hike was 9.8 miles round-trip, and it took me 5 hours and 15 minutes.
