I did a 7.6 mile loop hike starting from Sophie's Flat Trailhead located near Wickenburg. I combined trails A,B,C, and D. From the D trail I followed an unmaintained trail to the summit of Red Top Mountain. It was a beautiful hike, and I didn't see a single person on the entire route. It took me 4 hours and 11 minutes. The summit of Red Top Mountain is 3,190 feet. It is composed of mainly rhyolite and volcanic tuff.
From Wickenburg, travel east on Constellation Road for
approximately 2.9 miles to Blue Tank Road. Turn left onto Blue Tank Road
and travel approximately 1.4 miles to the trailhead.
